Thurber House is a literary center for readers and writers located in the historic former home of author, humorist, and New Yorker cartoonist James Thurber. Thurber House is dedicated to promoting the literary arts by presenting quality literary programming; increasing the awareness of literature as a significant art form; promoting excellence in writing; providing support for literary artists; and commemorating Thurber's literary and artistic achievements.
ProMusica Chamber Orchestra
ProMusica Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1978 to present the best of traditional chamber orchestra repertoire and to promote the understanding and appreciation of contemporary American music. Since 1998, ProMusica has served as the resident orchestra of the historic Southern Theatre. The Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG) is America’s oldest not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to producing, performing and promoting jazz. The Jazz Arts Group (JAG) divides its resources among two areas: performance and education. JAG is led by Executive Director Press Southworth. JAG serves as an “umbrella” organization to the Columbus Jazz Orchestra (CJO), performance activities at the Lincoln Theatre, the Jazz Academy, and the JAG Affiliate Musicians program.
